Images and information about the HP W2207h LCD monitor.

This monitor appears to be well built.

I overlooked taking images of the actual cause of failure. It turns out one ccfl out of four went bad. High voltage burned through the insulation at one end of that particular bulb and thus caused a power supply shut down after a few seconds. I chose to order 4 new 2.4x480mm ccfl's, spare end caps, some tiny spacer rings. ccflwarehouse.com provided a 4 lamp kit and the individual parts I requested. Packaged well and arrived in 5 business days.

These are tiny nylon rings to be placed eaual distances along the tubes. Doing so prevents glass against glass.

Carefully place insulators over existing wire, wrap small stripped end of wire around ccfl wire and solder a nice round bead of solder. High voltage wont arc as well from a rounded joint as it does from a point. Notice to the right of the scotch tape securing the bulb to something heavier, there is a nylon ring in view.

Both ccfl bulbs are inserted into their frame. This monitor has two pair of bulbs, one along the top and one on the bottom. note: if you are into the monitor this far you may as well replace all the ccfl's. If you dont you might have some brighter than others and failure for the older bulbs may come soon.
